Brandon Haunstrup is a target for Bristol Rovers, reports suggest.

According to Mail Online, the Gas are eyeing a move for the Pompey defender.

Haunstrup’s two-year deal expires at the end of this season and the Blues are yet to open contract talks with him or any of the nine other players in the same situation.

The Waterlooville lad has made 19 appearances for Kenny Jackett’s side this season – including five in a makeshift right-back role.

A knee injury he suffered late on in the 2-2 draw against Peterborough on December 7 sidelined him for more than month.

Since recovering from injury, Haunstrup’s been an unused substitute twice and featured in the EFL trophy quarter-final victory over Scunthorpe last week.

He’s mainly been confined to a support-act role since graduating through Pompey’s academy, having been behind Enda Stevens and Lee Brown in the pecking order.

The eye-catching form of on-loan Birmingham defender Steve Seddon since his arrival at the start of the month has also made it difficult for Haunstrup to win back a starting spot.

In total, the 23-year-old has made 56 appearances for the Blues, scoring one goal.
