A WATERLOOVILLE woman has been named Website Designer of the Year at the Digital Women’s Awards.

Heather Hulbert, 36, has been recognised for her work in the design industry as she bagged herself an award for being website designer of the year at the Digital Women’s Awards 2022.

The 36-year-old began her branding and website designing business two years ago during the pandemic and has not looked back since as she is now being recognised for the work she is doing to help small businesses.

Heather took the leap out of corporate employment after working for others since she was 15 years old but since she set up her own business, she has helped over 35 small businesses to support them getting the best clientele they want, by establishing high quality branding and design.

Heather said: ‘It’s a real honour to be amongst so many amazing women creating waves in the digital world. What was once thought of as a “man’s world” is now full of incredibly strong, creative and innovative women, showing up for their audiences and making changes that will last a lifetime. We’re paving the way for future generations of young girls and showing them we can stand on our own two feet and anything is possible if we put our minds to it.’

She found her love for design when she started work experience, at only 15, at the Portsmouth-based graphic design company, Blue Dot, and since then, she has now got a degree and runs her own successful business.

Heather added: ‘I’m so thrilled and delighted to have been recognised as the Website Designer of the Year at the 2022 Digital Women’s Awards, as well as a finalist in the Freelancer of the Year category.’

The awards ceremony, which was held on October 14 in London, celebrated women in the industry who are putting their stamp on design.

Lucy Hall, community lead and founder of digital women said: ‘We are really excited to celebrate once again all of the incredible women going over and above and doing truly amazing things in the digital space. This is a significant time to celebrate businesswomen, entrepreneurs and all people in digital industries, I’m so glad we get to recognise all of these fantastic achievements from our community.’
