Portsmouth FC chief warns 'devastating' coronavirus could cost club £100,000 a game

Chief executive Mark Catlin said it would be ‘devastating’ if the club lost its matchday revenue if fans are not allowed to games.
The CEO believes clubs would struggle to pay players – pushing those struggling in the bottom two divisions over the brink.

Hide AdSpeaking to the BBC, Mr Catlin said: ‘There's a lot of clubs reliant on that matchday income to pay wages at the end of the month.
‘It's not just the income coming in from gate receipts, it's all the spin-offs like programs, food and beverage, that type of thing. It could be quite devastating.’
