Dog rescued from deep water following incident in Lee-on-the-Solent

Emergency services were called to the Lee-on-the-Solent shoreline, near Elmore Car Park, yesterday afternoon.
According to Hill Head Coastguard Rescue Team, a dog in the water was in need of rescue – but two people were already on the scene, attempting to rescue the animal.

Hide AdThey managed to get the dog out as the coastguard and Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (Gafirs) arrived to help.
Posting on social media, Hill Head Coastguard said: ‘Persons and dog made it safely ashore to be checked over by coastguard officers.
‘Please ensure you call for the correct emergency support at the earliest opportunity to ensure that you do not put yourself at unnecessary risk.’

In the event of a coastal emergency, people can call 999 and ask for the coastguard.
