Portsmouth man caught with 40 child abuse images claimed he only saw 'pop-ups'

Portsmouth Crown Court heard David Hammond, 56, of Arnaud Close, Buckland, admitted three charges of making indecent images of children.
Police were alerted to suspicious activity on his internet connection and visited his home on June 17, 2018.

Hide AdWhen they arrived he said: ‘I might have seen some stuff but only pop-ups.
‘Officers conducted a search of the premises.’
A Samsung mobile phone was seized and found to have indecent images of children.
There were nine category A images showing children aged 12 to 15, and 24 at category B of children aged 10 to 15. There were seven category C images, the least severe rating.
He was handed an 18-month community order with 30 rehabilitation activity days and 150 hours’ unpaid work.
