A MAN arrested in connection with a series of car fires in Gosport has been released on bail until December.

The man in his 20s, from Gosport, was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of arson and was interviewed by police.

Four cars, including a police vehicle, were set alight on the evening of Sunday, October 9 while they were parked on Foster Road and Linden Road.

A fifth car, a Fiat Panda, was set alight on Tuesday night on Cleveland Road, a short walk from Foster Road.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘The man arrested has been bailed until December 12.’
