Comfort and Joy: How you can help people in Portsmouth this Christmas
The News has partnered up with the church again to launch this year's Comfort and Joy campaign which supports 11 organisations throughout the city and surrounding areas.
Residents are encouraged to make a difference to people's lives locally by purchasing supermarket gift cards and a Christmas card.

Hide Ad- Society of St James: Direct access day centre for homeless people and other services
- Friends Without Borders: Support for asylum seekers whilst their applications are processed
- Hope House (The Salvation Army): Provides support for homeless people

Hide Ad- Portsmouth Churches Housing Association: Runs three hostels for the homeless
- Portsmouth Foyer Younger Persons: Equips vulnerable people with life skills
- Portsmouth Refuge (Portsmouth Domestic Abuse Service): Provides accommodation for women and children
- St Simon's Church: Provides meals and support for homeless peopleÂ

- The LifeHouse: A drop-in for people whose lives are affected by homelessness and addictionÂ
- Roberts Centre: Supports over 1000 families in the Portsmouth areaÂ

How to donate:Â
- Buy a Christmas card and write a message (please do not put your name and
address)
- Purchase a supermarket voucher of £5

- Place in a large envelope (seal this one)
This envelope can be taken to a Comfort and Joy post box in Tesco Fratton, North Harbour, Fareham or Gosport.
